I had a pretty great week full of Disneyland trips (2!!), doctor appointments, going to the movies, and celebrating birthdays! 1/peace, 2/skyline, 3/something I’m wearing, 4/fun!, 5/bird, 6/me, 7/someone who inspires me P.S. I sure lucked out on finding Nigel … Continue reading

1. The Mule Business Card

Scott Hill’s design work is always amazing down the smallest textural detail. His latest business card for The Mule is no exception. Although there is a lot going on with the text, Hill designed with a clear hierarchy in mind. From the colors to the typography, I love it all! Found via Dribbble.

2. Wander by Matt Chase

Designed for the Wander Blog, Matt Chase’s illustration uses muted gold and dark blue with bright pops of red. What I love most about this illustration is how simple it looks upon first look, but then the lower portion reveals so much more depth in the traveler’s and tree’s shadows. With the added saying: “There are no foreign lands. It is the traveler only that is foreign,” it really really makes me want to strap on a backpack and travel. Found via Dribbble.

3. A Paper Marriage Proposal Pop-Up Book

A combination of a proposal with a paper pop up book?? What’s not the love? Created by Jackie Huang, found via Oh So Beautiful Paper.

4. Addie’s Graduation Announcement

Unusual takes on the traditional, especially when it comes to paper goods, usually grabs my attention right away. And when it comes to a break from the traditional white paper, scrolling black text; there is just no exception. Designer Addie Ragsdale, created her own graduation invite to celebrate her Bachelors in Graphic Design. The playful typography pairs perfectly with bright blues and greens. Found via For Print Only.

5. 1,000 Paces

While studying abroad, Seth Lunsford created a series of designs based upon the sights in Rome. The city was an inspiration to the pieces as the subject but also down to the use of texture and color. Found via designworklife.

1. Sugar Cookie Cheesecake Bars

After a few failed attempts using recipes found on Pinterest, I thought I would try again with these Sugar Cookie Cheesecake bars. I am pretty sure they were successful—at least in tasting what I thought they would! However, I had left out the toffee chips as the topping. Have you made some goodies from Pinterest? Link up in the comments! Found via Pinterest.

2. Esquire with Ryan Gosling

Love the handwritten type juxtaposed with a gritty black and white photo of Ryan Gosling. A school project by Sara Kovacs, found via Pinterest.

3. One Flew South

I’ve been a fan of Alvin Diec’s work for awhile, but hadn’t seen One Flew South until this post on the Graphic-Exchange. I love the use of simple overlaying shapes and lines. The same look is cohesively incorporated into their website as well. See more of this project and more of Diec’s work.

4. Geological Street Art

I love street art! It’s just so pleasantly unexpected! Found this gem (get it??) on Inspire; to breathe.

5. Behind the Scenes with Trever Hoehne

As my interest in photography keeps growing, I love seeing the behind the scenes videos of photography shoots. Watching how photographers adjust their models and seeing the simple to extravagant set ups is just so interesting to me! Here’s a video of one of my favorite photographers, Trever Hoehne, working with music artist Travis Ryan. If you have any behind the scenes videos, send them my way!
